#NoPants: CPAC Slump or CPAC of the Year?

[REDACTED] – Something funny from CPAC

I couldn’t wrap my head around anything specific to write about today, but since I already bailed on you guys last week, I asked the #AltCon army what they would like to hear me give my two cents on. This is what you guys came up with.

How awesome [@hymnforrachel is]?
@hymnforrachel is in fact very awesome, and my musical soul mate.

The new hit show “The Bible” and why it’s a step in the right direction in terms of taking back media?
I haven’t watched it yet, but I wouldn’t look at shows like this and “Duck Dynasty” as taking back the media. It implies we need our own separate media, and once a thing gets labeled as “conservative” art, that’s a nice way of saying it sucks. Good art where conservative values are displayed, or where center-right characters at the very least are featured without being mocked (i.e. Ron Swanson) or actors who are at least not openly hostile (i.e. Rob Lowe) on Twitter, that’s definitely a good start.

CPAC?
Meh. It is what you made of it. For me, it was my first CPAC being a what I guess passes as a “political professional.” It was like a Superman/Clark Kent thing. Mild-mannered John Brodigan the “political consultant” took meetings, further developed existing contacts, chased a few leads, and otherwise dreamed and schemed.

Brodigan the “Rated R Republican” may or may not have wound up lying on the hotel piano.

Me?
What about you? I need more specifics.

CPAC something something youth something closed-minded blah blah something Priebus.
We’ll get to Master Priebus (I call him “Master” because it makes him sound like a Jedi) later, but focusing on “youth” and “CPAC,” the highlight for me (and really, the only speech I watched other than some of Rand Paul), it was great to see NY Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis. She was one of the “Top 10 Under 40,” and one of the hidden conservatives we have here in New York.

WrestleMania is coming up. Make an analogy to something political. Done.
CM Punk vs. The Undertaker. Nothing political, and the only thing worth watching at WrestleMania.

New GOP something Romney.
It was nice of the RNC to collect all of our angry blog posts and put them in a report with a nice cover letter. Now they have to actually follow through, which I’ll believe when it happens.

Bloomberg just came up with a new dictate.
“Why is Bloomberg banning public tobacco displays? It’s not like NYC school kids can read them.” – Dana Loesch (I can’t top that)

Boom. Done. Here’s your song of the week.
